The Umri is a fully-staffed, two-storied homestay set amid pine forests and the solitude of nature. It has four bedrooms and sleeps eight adults. There are living and dining rooms on the ground as well as the first floor, and two spacious bedrooms each on both levels. The ground floor deck as well as the first floor balcony offer stunning views of the surrounding hills and forests and the bluest of skies.   • Breakfast is served between 8 am and 10 am.
  • Lunch is served between 12.30 pm and 2.30 pm.
  • Dinner is served from 7.30 to 10 pm

Breakfast in included in the tariff; a la carte menu available for all other meals. Since this is a remote area, ingredients can sometimes be difficult to procure. It’s best to inform the chef a day in advance if you want something special cooked.

The Umri is a magical experience. We were looking for a modern place in a site of solitude not too far from Delhi, and we found it there. We spent the mornings trekking and visiting Corbett and the rest of the days lounging on the sofa and looking out at the mist floating among the hills. BY ROAD (FROM KOTWAR)

Take National Highway 534 from Kotdwar to Lansdowne. Watch out for The Umri board after passing the First View of Lansdowne sign. Start climbing up the hill road from the sign. There are signposts all the way to guide you to the homestay. There is free parking on the premises.
